Thrombosis Australia (TA) is an initiative of the Perth Blood Institute (PBI), a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with blood disorders. Thrombosis Australia and Thrombosis Australia Professionals sit side by side to meet professional and community needs in the field of thrombosis.
We have an independent scientific advisory board of leading thrombosis experts to inform colleagues and patients with the latest information.
Emeritus Professor David Macey BSc (Hons) PhD (Chair)
A retired Professor of Animal Physiology, David is a contributing author to over 100 research papers,as well as multiple book chapters. Prior to his retirement, David held the positions of Director of Admissions to the Chancellery at Murdoch University, Faculty Dean and Pro Vice Chancellor: Science and Engineering and Academic Chair for Medicine. He is currently Emeritus Professor at Murdoch and actively contributes to teaching and research at both Murdoch and Notre Dame Universities.
Dr Jamie Price graduated from UWA in 1973. Dr Price was a resident at Princess Margaret and Royal Perth Hospital and specialises in haematology. Dr Price was appointed Clinical Haematologist at PMH and worked in haematology and oncology for over 30 years. His special interests are in paediatric haematology, bleeding disorders, and thrombotic disorders. One of his major objectives was in the prophylaxis of haemophilia and the preservation of joint function in haemophiliac patients.
