"Not only is the blood a window to the body, it is a magnificent means of introducing the drugs and medicines to ward off and cure severe illness." Thomas

In 2012, following months of consultations with various medical practitioners, Thomas was diagnosed with a cancerous growth in his lower back. Following this diagnosis and the development of a treatment plan, Thomas commenced a program of therapy under the care of Haematologist Professor Ross Baker.

After six months of treatment, Thomas’ cancer was in remission. He remains extremely grateful to Professor Baker and the Perth Blood Institute for their contribution to his recovery.

"Reflecting back on those times, one thing became very clear – the ability of Professor Baker to use one’s blood as a window into the body to locate and identify malfunctions within." Thomas
