Board

Professor Ross Baker MBBS BMedSc FRACP FACP FRCPA (Chair)

Founding Director of PBI, Consultant Haematologist Professor Ross Baker has led large international clinical trials and clinical research in blood disorders including thrombosis, leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and haemophilia. He has authored over 100 papers in peer reviewed journals and is a renowned international speaker. He is a founding director and secretary of the Australasian Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis and served as scientific advisor to the World Health Organisation on DVT in 2001.


Pina Caffarelli MBus FCA CTA 

Pina Caffarelli’s professional accounting and tax career spans over 30 years. A principal of Caffarelli & Associates, she serves on a number of boards including the Cancer Council of WA. A chartered accountant (CAANZ) providing taxation, accounting, auditing and specialist advice, Pina also holds a Master of Business (Accounting/law), Chartered Tax Advisor (Taxation Institute) and is a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand.


Bruce Fielding BBus FCA

Bruce is a chartered accountant and founding director of PBI. Following his retirement as Managing Director of Nexia Perth in 2012, Bruce has been engaged as an external CFO, management mentor and board member in several businesses ranging from transport, professional and financial services, information technology and mining services. He currently also serves as the Chair of the CEO Institute.


Learne Durrington

Learne is recognised as a strategic leader in the health sector in Western Australia. She is the Chief Executive Officer at the WA Primary Health Alliance, and Learne’s background in health, and her passion for measurably improving health outcomes, is an excellent fit with PBI.

She is an A/Adjunct Professor of Health Sciences, holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and an Honours Degree in Social Work. Learne is also a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management and a Graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors.
